This team specialise in delivering strategic financial consulting advice to pension sponsors, trustees and managers. The team helps its clients achieve their unique risk management objectives, by delivering advice on pensions risk assessment, management and reduction, and integrates the pension solution within the overall financial strategy.
As a Senior Consultant, you will lead in the provision of the full-range of services to sophisticated clients, principally in the Scottish market. You will use your wide breadth and depth of actuarial knowledge and experience to develop and deliver customised solutions and advice on pension risk management and reduction in relation to pension schemes for corporate and trustee clients. You will have a particular focus on strategic advice to corporate clients, including assisting them in interactions with trustees and their advisors on funding strategy, covenant security, goal planning, buyout and other risk management strategies.
Key activities:

• To drive the pension risk consulting agenda with clients.
• Responsible for managing and developing new and existing client relationships across business lines and geographies, and seeks to extend the range of services provided to our clients by leveraging resources and intellectual capital.
• Act as a mentor and role model, by motivating staff to deliver a high standard of work within given timeframes and budgets, thereby creating an environment that encourages both individual and team accomplishments.
• Ensures all professionalism and compliance processes are well understood and followed.

Skills and Qualifications required:
• Qualified actuary
• Relevant experience within the actuarial and investment environment, with specific experience of pension risk and funding consulting to corporate and trustee clients.
• Strong technical and consulting skills, with ability to explain complex concepts and assist clients in making informed decisions.
• Strong numerical reasoning, analytical skills and ability to work through tasks in a logical manner.
